Have you become the 'new-you' for this 'new-normal'?
Assalamu'alaikum, hey all!I want to share with you about well-being maintenance (my way) especially during this difficult time. I hope this article will be helpful. This pandemic had impacted our life drastically, not just about adjusting our schedule but we have to adjust our life in order to survive not only from the virus but from being stressed and frustrated.
my affirmations whenever I feeling blue;
Singapore it's not the only country affected by the pandemic
I am not the only daughter who canceled her holiday
I am not the only one who spend my rest day in room
I am not the only muslimah who spend Ramadhan in unusual way
I am not the only believer who celebrate Eid al Fitr via zoom
I am not the only who must adjust and adapt to this new normal.
I kept on telling myself to do something or find something to do and here what's on my list to stay productive and spend my stay-home to the fullest
1. Turn your hobbies into a solution
My hobbies or things which I love and helped me a lot especially during circuit breaker are writing and study. As most of us know writing could be a therapy, why? because by writing we can express our feeling, things that make us frustrated or express something that we're not or we don't feel secure to tell anyone. Nowadays writing could be something fun to do as well and it is a platform for everyone. With current technology, even though we are not able to go out but we could easily use platform such as; blog, Facebook, instagram etc to show to the world your piece. I do similar thing for my study; use the technology to study without leaving your house. I enrolled online class to spend my free time with. I am sure everyone has different hobby so, share yours!!!
2. Embrace the new challenge
I am not a fan of video call until the whole globe was switching to ZOOM I have no choice but to adapt. Spending hours talk to people who will not notice wether I'm looking at them or not. I learnt how to use 'share screen' as my board during English class and writing workshop. Soon I realized how many event I was able to attend without spend my time on traveling which usually I need around 1-2 hours. Of course attending event physically would be much better but again we are in a term of adjusting with the new normal and we are in a war with unseen enemy.
3. Find positive vibes during a hard time
It might sounds not easy and yes it is not easy but it's not impossible. Through hard time and difficulty; we can grow, we can be the better version of us, we can find something new and even better. The problem is: Do we want to find or create the positive vibes and turn it into a light to overcome this pandemic or do we just give up and let the chaos conquer us? Currently internet is a very handy kind of thing and we could use that as a tool to communicate with outside world. Sometime I have a thought it might be time for me to have my 'me-time' which I often neglected lately, work Monday-Saturday and Sunday my time consumed by extra activities that often makes me busier than weekdays.
Look around and see every little thing surrounded us, there are a lot to be grateful with, we are not the only one being effected, hence if other can survive and become the better version, why can't we? We are in this together buddies!!!
