little joys from my 'stay-home'
Assalamu'alaikum, how you been doing? still navigating with the 'new normal'?
Hope you all doing well, for me this is my 5th months of staying at home program. Not so strict now but still, we need to be extremely careful, Melbourne has been put into lockdown again after the second wave of the virus.
let's look back on what we have done during this pandemic? feel free to share yours guys!!!
Here are few things which I started when my stay-home program began on March 2020:
GROW MY INSTAGRAM
Ok, I wasn't really pay attention about who follows or likes my post on Instagram, all I know was I have it and I can post whatever I want. I had a thought of why some of my friends got follower and like more than mine but I didn't really working on it, instead I tried the 'promotion' which means I have to pay for being promoted by instagram but it didn't work for me then I heard about getting organic follower. I searched on google and YouTube about it and slowly I gained more likes and followers but that's NOT THE POINT, the point is I was able to push myself to explore more ideas about photography, writing, places, culture etc from instagram user all over the world. Not as fast as others but again that's not the point. It might be out of boredom of being indoor, everything happen for a reason, isn't it?
WEBSITE
Yes, the piece that you're reading right now is one of the proof that I've been doing something during this pandemic. Am I too late? No, I believe there is nothing called too late to do something. I registered my website at the end of December, I was excited but I didn't even write on my blog once a month. I disappointed with myself till March when everything have shut down and left me in my room during my rest-day thinking what am i going to do and how to be productive in this situation and yeah the idea to share with you all my thoughts through my website popped into my head and here I am!!!π
INTERACT WITH MORE PEOPLE
Bizarre, isn't it? I should have interacted with more people when I could freely going out but not for me, for migrant workers, the only day we could held or attend event, workshop, class or any other activities is on Sunday, imagine how many events in a Sunday. Now, the whole world is switching to virtual life, 'zoom' has become so popular. Of course it's not the same as we doing the activities and meet people physically but what I realized was how much time I saved by not making any trip in this few months. I attended more events via zoom, talking with more people with longer hours while not worrying about my out fit π. Honestly, I found some convenience in it, there are some people who I never have coffee together and discuss over something due to our different activities but now we could be easily being connected. I do miss going out and meet my friends, trailing etc but if we are able to, one day, it would be different for me. Few things had come to my mind, some changes and I'm looking forward to it.
Over all I have realized that I didn't manage my time well when I have a chance to do more. Qadarullah, this situation showed me a very great lesson about time management. Even though I'm slow but the most important is I keep going.
I hope you all have some takeaways too from this pandemic, a lot have changed. Sad, disappointed as we have to differ our plans, our life and at the same time we are anxious about what will comes. What I shared might have nothing to do with curer of covid nor about getting extra income that lets you making plan for a new business after this over but I do hope it will fill the gap that we have in ourself during this time, we are in the phase 2 but we are still in the uncertainty. Time goes on, if we don't act now then it might be too late.
That's all for now, stay safe and take care!!!
Till my next piece, InshaAllah. Wassalamua'laikum.π
